(Oxford University Press, 2000).

DR. C. N. POTKAR MD, MBA, MSHS

Dr. Potkar completed his postgraduation in Pharmacology ( M.D.) and MBA from Deakin University. He became a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, KEM Hospital in Mumbai where he was responsible for coordinating bio-equivalence and Phase I-III clinical studies in therapeutic areas like epilepsy and malaria. He joined Pfizer in 1995 as a Medical Advisor, and has been responsible for the management of several Phase II and III global clinical development programs including studies.

As Director of clinical study management and monitoring, he has contributed in efforts to make the group a premier service provider in terms of cost, quality and timeliness. He has collaborated with industry professionals, academia and government and participated in initiatives to influence clinical research environment in the country by organizing GCP workshops.

DR. CHITRA LELE PhD

Dr. Lele has a Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University in the U.S.A. She has 12 years of experience as a statistician and researcher in academic institutes and as a biostatistician in medical colleges/hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry, both in the U.S.A and in India.
She joined Pfizer in 1998 and has been responsible for setting up the Biometrics division in India as a unit of Pfizer Global R &D. She is currently working Executive Vice President at Sciformix Technologies .Dr. Lele is a member of several professional organizations and has several publications to her credit in statistical and medical journals.

MR. PRAVIN MANKAR,
Director, Bombay College of Pharmacy

Mr. Pravin Mankar graduated from Bombay College of Pharmacy in 1977. He is also a free-lance consultant operating in the name and style of P.P.M. Consultants and a partner in a retail pharmacy store, Tardeo Pharmacy, in Mumbai.

His tryst with education dates back to 1998 when he started teaching Production Management in IES Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. Besides the above, he is also a teaching faculty with Indian Education Society's (IES) Post Graduate Diploma in Pharma Management and in the Academy of Pharma Management (APM), two premier Pharma Management Institutes in Mumbai. He has been a regular speaker at various seminars organized by the IPA and also some organized under the aegis of the local and State Branches of FDA.

In his career spanning over 3 decades, Mr. Manker has handled a varied mix of assignments. He has set up manufacturing plants for Small Volume Parenterals (SVP) & Large Volume Parenterals (LVP), tablets, liquid orals and ointments & cream manufacturing companies in India and Nigeria. He has conducted WHO GMP audits, process validation, and training programs for Small and Medium Scale companies in India(SMEs).He has conducted successful labor negotiations at the National level in Nigeria.

RAO V. S. V. VADLAMUDI PhD

Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, after completing M.Pharm from Andhra University, obtained an M. Sc. and Ph. D. in Pharmacology from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B. C. Canada. He was a reader in pharmacology at UDCT, Mumbai (1984-1989), a professor in pharmacology at BCP 1989-1990, before joining Hoechst Research Centre in 1990 as a Principle Research Scientist. He headed the Department of Pharmacology, Hoechst Research Centre up to 1998, and continued as head of Pharmacology, Quest Institute of LifeSciences of Nicholas Piramal India Limited up to April 2002. In May 2002 he joined Suven Pharmaceuticals and is responsible for Discovery Biology and Clinical Research Operations.

Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, is currently the Editor of the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, which is the official scientific journal of the IPA. He was a visiting scientist to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UBC, Canada, during 1987 and 1990, a visiting professor at BCP for the past 12 years and a Ph. D. examiner for a number of Indian Universities. He is a life member of IPA, IPS and APTI and a fellow of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association.

DR. S. NAGARSENKAR PhD

Qualified with a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Technology, Dr. Nagarsenkar is backed with a decade of teaching experience in Goa College of Pharmacy. He has also worked in various pharmaceutical companies - in Hindustan Ciba Geigy as Asst Manager for 6 years, in Rhone Poulenc as Associate Director for 13 years and in Indoco as Senior Vice President-Technical for a year before joining Aventis Pharma. His areas of expertise are Research and Development and in Quality Operations.

Dr. Nagarsenkar has been the Past president of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Maharashtra State branch, Past Chairman of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, - Industrial Pharmacy Division and is a member of the governing body of the Bombay college of Pharmacy.

Mr. SUBODH PRIOLKAR B.Pharm, MBA

Mr. Subodh Priolkar is a graduate of Bombay College of Pharmacy, with management postgraduation from university of Mumbai and diploma in Operations Management from J. Bajaj Institute of Management. Mr. Priolkar started his career in Abbot Laboratories and later joined Wyeth Lederle Ltd. After having a long stint with the company, at the time of leaving, he was Associate Director, Manufacturing, responsible for total manufacturing of the company. Currently, he is Managing Director of Valois India Pvt. Ltd. - a French Multinational Company. Mr. Priolkar has been associated with IPA in various capacities for more than 12 years- as past President, IPA, Maharashtra State and is currently Chairman, Industrial Pharmacy Division, IPA. He has also been on many committees of IPA-Centre.

MR. VENKAT JASTI

Mr. Venkat Jasti holds a Master degree in Pharmacy from Andhra University and M.S. in Industrial Pharmacy, St.John's University, NY, USA. Mr. Jasti started his career as a Production Officer in Warner Hindustan Limited and later on migrated to USA wherein he owned and operated a chain of 6 community pharmacies in the United States for 12 years. He came back to India and established Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited in the year 1989, and is the Founding Managing Director, a company which specializes in `Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (C-R-A-M-S).

Mr. Jasti has been the Past President of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Andhra Pradesh State Branch, Chairman of Local Organizing Committee for the 52nd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, held at Hyderabad and presently is the President of Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association, India (BDMA). Mr. Jasti is also the Chief architect for the formation of A.P. Chief Minister's task force for Pharma and member of the same wherein Centres of excellence in Manufacturing, R&D and clinical research will be set up.

MR.VENKATRAMAN SUNDER

Venkatraman Sunder is the Vice President, Operations in Asian Clinical Trials (ACT), a business division Suven Life Sciences He leads the ACT’s world-wide strategic plan through implementing and expediting key initiatives.

He has more than 20 years of experience in service, pharmaceutical, biotech and information technology and strategic management consulting companies in a variety of capacities including corporate and M&A strategy formulation, product commercialization, clinical research and data management initiatives, investment decision making, process reengineering, organizational redesign and financial management activities.

Cost and Management Accountant (ACMA) by qualification, a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) from UK and Post Graduate in Information Technology. Has delivered lectures in various topics of interest in Strategy management, Global technology initiatives, clinical research and data management and merger and acquisition strategies.
